Hi Bruce
My Name is Anne Muscat and I live in North Queensland, Australia.
My great-great-great grandmother was Anna Dorothea Brereton from
Ireland . I believe her father to be John Brereton and her mother
Ann Hackett. I don't have any other details on her immediate family.
Anna married my ggg grandfather Arthur Christopher Robinson in Kings
Co., Ireland on 25 April, 1848. AC Robinson was born in Parsonstown
Ireland as far as I know.
Anna and her husband emigrated from Liverpool to the USA in 1849
and settled in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin where they bore and raised
7 children (two died whilst in USA) - my gg grandfather was Arthur
John Brereton Robinson. Anna and Arthur travelled to USA with Arthur's
parents and siblings - all of whom remained in USA. Anna and Arthur
C then emigrated to Australia in 1862 via Plymouth, England and
remained in Australia for the remainder of their lives - one more
child was born in 1863 however he did not survive and Anna died
shortly after.
My maiden name was Robinson however the Brereton name has been
carried on in the family as a middle name for quite some time. I
would welcome any contact from of any of my Brereton relations from
