Dear Bruce,
Our family of four visited Brereton Hall in 1994. The Creighs,
Derrick and Mary, were the owners then. Derrick was a retired PanAm
pilot and Mary had only recently closed the hall as a former girls'
boarding school.
We were their guests there for two nights and were given a tour
of much of the place.
The most interesting aspect was a priest's hole that was now exposed.
Derrick said experts figured there were others. I understand this
is where priest's hid from the authorities when their brand of religion
was not accepted.
