Mrs Elva Jean Masters (nee Brereton)
passed away peacefully on Monday November 27, 2006
at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, aged 92 years.

We remember Elva for her wonderful book, “The Brereton Story – Cheshire to Australia 1852 – 1983”. Not only did Elva write the South Australian Brereton Family history but for 23 years organised our Brereton family reunions.

We are indebted to Elva for her considerable dedication and effort in compiling this genealogy record for future generations. It was her wish that our families would continue to record details of their family births, marriages and deaths to periodically update the family tree she commenced. Her dedication and encouragement influenced Derek Brereton of Ann Arbor U.S.A. to organise the world wide Brereton reunion in Cheshire in 2001.

A delightful lady, always a smile and a story to tell – she will be sadly missed, but not forgotten.

regards

Keneatha Pick and Dudley Brereton
(Brereton Family Reunion Committee)
