Subject: The Brereton Family
Hello Bruce
My name is Paul Wild I live in Bolton Greater Manchester England. My late mother was Edna Brereton Sewell a descendant of the Breretons from Brereton Hall Sandbach Cheshire. In fact all the first born members of the Sewell family were christened with the middle name of Brereton as indeed was my late brother Neil Brereton Wild.
I have visited Brereton Hall many years ago at the time it was a girls boarding school. Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the Brereton Family Reunion back in 2001 if I had known about it I would have certainly attended.
The Brereton family history as you know is an extremely interesting and exciting story. We did have a family history of the Brereton family that my Uncle Claude Brereton Sewell had in his possession sadly its whereabouts is not entirely known since his death in the 1960s, I never had the opportunity to read it. Just thought I would make myself known to you Bruce I would be grateful of any information from yourself. My late brother’s wife has a piece of furniture that my Uncle Claude acquired which came from Brereton Hall it is an oak sideboard with the “muzzled bear” coat of arms carved into the front of it. The muzzled bear as you will be aware is on the coat of arms for the Brereton Family.
