Subject: Stained Glass Window Brereton Hall
I was recently carrying out some research into the link between the Brereton and Trelawny families. The will of Owen Salusbry Brereton effectively caused the assumption of both Brereton and Salusbury additions to Trelawny. However, my interest is in heraldry, and a Victorian article made reference to a stained glass window that had been installed by Sir William Brereton when the house was built. This window consisted of 9 panels showing figures of 2 Saxon and 7 Norman Earls. The window was allegedly removed to Aston Hall, Warwickshire (for reasons unknown)sometime in the late 18th or early 19th century.(?) I wonder if you have any further information on this.
King regards,
Terence Trelawny-Gower
